Press Release: 50,000 AWeber Customers!
by Justin Premick on January 5th, 2009Near the start of the year, we celebrated passing the 30,000 customer mark as more businesses than ever started managing their email marketing with us.
That was quite a milestone, but it took us over 9 years to reach that point. How much longer would it be before we’d celebrate another milestone like that one? How fast would more businesses out there would hear about AWeber and try us out? Another 9 years?
Hardly. Thanks to customers like you telling others about us, over 50,000 businesses now use AWeber to communicate with their prospects and customers!
For more details, read the write-up below (you can also see it at PRWeb).

Segmentation Screwups: How Do You Recover?
by Justin Premick on December 30th, 2008Email segmentation is a funny thing.
Used well, it’s one of those little extras that separates professional email marketing campaigns from disparate sequences of “spray and pray” messages. It gets more of the right message to the right people at the right time, and it amplifies your response.
Used poorly or mistakenly, however, it can amplify the wrong kind of response.
A pair of emails I received the other day demonstrate this and give us a chance to see how we can respond to our own segmentation mistakes.
Let’s have a look…

Web Form Tracking Enhancements
by Marc Kline on December 17th, 2008When creating an in-line (as opposed to a pop up type) opt-in form for your website, AWeber provides an option of two types of HTML available to publish to your site:
- A JavaScript Snippet
- A Raw HTML Version
Up until recently, the Raw HTML version did not provide the ability to track the performance of forms published to your site.
Then Dan, one of our developers who also spearheaded our recently released Setup Wizard project, helped cast another vote for the old cliche adage, “where there’s a will, there’s a way”.

Do You Respect Your Subscribers?
by Justin Premick on December 16th, 2008We often hear that email marketing is about building relationships. Build a relationship with subscribers, the mantra goes, and you’ll create customers for life.
Unfortunately, many email marketers don’t think about what it means to build a relationship with subscribers. They hear the mantra and believe they’re following it — but in practice they take subscribers for granted and treat them like wallets with email addresses.
Do you show your subscribers the respect they deserve?
Or do you overlook these areas of respect that help you build a quality subscriber relationship?

Can YouTube Boost Your Affiliate Sales?
by Ron Givens on December 11th, 2008The other day I saw an interesting YouTube video, created by AWeber affiliate John Chow. It was a quick demonstration of our recent Twitter integration.
The 2 minute video explained what our Twitter integration does, plus it gave simple instructions on how to use it. At the end, John included his affiliate link (and yes, I did click on it
).
With the growing popularity of online video, I think screencasting should be in the arsenal of all serious affiliate marketers.
Let’s take a look at how posting videos on YouTube can drive traffic to your affiliate website, and boost your sales.

Setup Wizard Makes Email Marketing Easy
by Marc Kline on December 9th, 2008My introduction to email marketing came through working with AWeber users on our Customer Solutions team, so I know a lot about your concerns.
We all know it can be intimidating to start anything new, and many of our new users are just getting started with their first email marketing campaigns.
I can’t tell you how many times people have asked me, “Can I just have a walk-through of what I need to know?”.
Well, I’m as happy to say now as I was then: “Yes! I’d be happy to show you how to set up everything you need to know to start seeing results.”

AWeber Core Values
by Sean Cohen on December 4th, 2008Over the last 10 years a lot has changed at AWeber.
Our team has grown by leaps and bounds, we’ve released hundreds of new features embraced by thousands of people around the world and our computer monitors went from small CRTs to fancy flat screens bigger then my first TV.
However, one thing has not changed and that are the values we’ve used to serve customers. We feel these represent what we need to do in order to make AWeber exceed your - and our own - expectations.
I thought you might like to see what helps to steer us as an organization.

Christmas Marketing Tips: 2 Ways You Can Use Segmentation To Increase Conversions
by Justin Premick on December 2nd, 2008This is the 3rd of 3 posts discussing Christmas marketing.
In the last Christmas marketing tip, you read my thoughts on focusing your efforts on building your list, rather than pulling in a few extra sales:
[H]owever hectic the holiday season is, and however much people talk about spending around this time of year, it’s only how long - two months? Maybe? Out of a whole year?
Rather than just squeezing another buck out of your current list, maybe you should instead work on getting more subscribers that you can build relationships with and market to all year long.
I’m sure some of you raised your eyebrows at that one. After all, building your list is all well and good for the long term, but what about now? Don’t short term results matter?
Of course they do. So how can we can get more sales, both from existing customers and first-time buyers?
