Insider Secrets to Selling on eBay
Inside look at an eBay selling course for starting and building an eBay selling business. Does it give you what you need to succeed?
I was excited when I first heard about Insider Secrets to Selling on eBay coming out.
It comes from the people who created what I had long considered the absolute best and most complete guide on starting a website-based business.
I have some concerns with it. I'll let you know what they are so you can decide for yourself whether those are fatal flaws for you.
Excellent course for beginning and intermediate eBay sellers
The course excels at walking you through the process of building your eBay business right from scratch. It's the best I've ever seen at this. Everything is broken down into easy-to-do steps. You can follow right through and be selling in a very short time.
And even more importantly, you will have a well-planned eBay business - not one that doomed to fail because you started off in the wrong direction.
Guides you into more advanced strategies
It doesn't stop with just the basics, either. It takes you all the way through some pretty advanced strategies. Overall, it's very thorough.
Not necessarily cost-effective for experienced eBay sellers
Now for the negatives.
I can see the price as worthwhile for someone who is beginning or intermediate in their eBay selling. What you'll learn from this course will more than make your money back for you.
I'm not as confident that someone who is already advanced in eBay selling will find the cost as worthwhile, though. I've sold on eBay since 2001 and I've learned eBay selling from some of the best.
I picked up a few good ideas that I hadn't heard before, but if you've been doing eBay for a long time, you might find the it not to be worth the $197 price. At least that's the way I felt.
Improved over earlier versions
I was pleased to see that they have fixed what I considered to be a glaring omission in previous versions of the course. They picked up on the opportunity to build an email list on eBay and market to them.
They still don't cover it in the depth that Jim Cockrum does in Turn Your Auction Traffic into Cash. They did have something on it, though.
A few errors
On the negative side again, I noticed a few errors in the course. I found links to pages on eBay that don't exist anymore and instructions on how to use features that eBay has since discontinued.
That bothers me. I figure, if I found those mistakes how many others did I not find. It was disturbing in a product that made a big point of claiming to be "constantly updated."
Questionable customer service
The thing that left the biggest sour taste in my mouth, though, was their customer service. As I said, I didn't feel that what I found in the course was worth the amount I paid for it. I don't normally take businesses up on their money-back guarantees, but I didn't want to pay for $197 for the few tips that actually were beyond what I already knew.
So I called to cancel my trial membership. And I called. And I called. And they kept stalling until my trial had expired and my payment went through.
Are the flaws fatal for you?
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to someone who is getting started in eBay selling. It still is the best step-by-step course for beginning and intermediate eBay sellers that I know.
If you decide to get it, make sure that you double-check the specifics it gives on eBay to make sure you're not relying on outdated information.
Also, don't expect it to advance your knowledge significantly if you're already an advanced eBay seller. For advanced sellers, I recommend MySilentTeam resource site.
Finally, don't rely on their trial offers or money-back guarantees to give you an opportunity to try it out before you commit. My experience with the customer service was not favorable.
As I say, Insider Secrets to Selling on eBay has a lot to offer to beginning and intermediate eBay sellers. It will guide you step by step into becoming a savvy seller. Just understand the negatives.
If the step-by-step guidance outweighs occasionally double-checking things on eBay itself and not being sure you can fall back on the cancellation or money-back guarantees, Insider Secrets to Selling on eBay can be a big help.
I rate it a 7 out of 10.
