Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet alternative
What offers the best step-by-step approach to starting a business online?
I learned Internet marketing on the old Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet. I hate to be disloyal to a training course that got me started in Internet marketing, but the time has come for me to cut ties with it.
It was the best course on the market at the time. I bought their massive sets of three-ring binders every year to keep up with the changes in online marketing.
Things have changed, though. Insider Secrets is now gone. The company that produced it has changed management several times. Insider Secrets went from a massive set of three-ring binders to a slick, online membership site that now goes by the name of Step by Step Guide to Selling Online.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the Step by Step Guide is a ripoff. It still contains excellent, step-by-step guidelines for starting a business online. I simply think you can do better for your investment in learning how to sell.
Limited in scope
Step by Step Guide gives you the nuts and bolts of starting a business. Over the years, though, training on how to start a business online has gone well beyond just nuts and bolts.
I've found other courses that give you all the nuts and bolts training, while adding another aspect, as well. These courses give you the nuts and bolts of what to do, while also helping you understand what running a business is all about.
This is huge! Starting a business is much more than just a series of mechanical tasks!
To become successful, you need to shift your thinking completely from the ways you've always approached earning a living. The Step by Step Guide simply does not address this adequately, in my opinion.
A better alternative to Insider Secrets/Step by Step Guide
One training site that I've found that does a much better job of helping you make this shift in thinking is Jim Edwards' The Net Reporter. You can read my full review of The Net Reporter here.
When you first join The Net Reporter as a Gold member, you'll get access to a comprehensive series of webinars -- dozens of hours of powerful ideas -- that will give you a much better understanding of how to look at your business, as well as step-by-step directions on how to set up its most elements so that you can start making money quickly.
And you get much more than just that. The Net Reporter doesn't stop once it's given you the basics. You keep receiving valuable access to two information-packed webinars per month with marketing genius Jim Edwards in which he covers the hottest strategies for making your business more profitable.
Simple, actionable training in The Net Reporter
All in all, The Net Reporter gives you everything you need to start and grow your business online. Jim is a master of breaking down complicated processes into simple, actionable tasks. I don't know of anyone else who does it better.
In my opinion, the only way that Jim could make building a business any easier for you is if he sat down at your computer and did the work for you himself. But you should never walk away from one of his training webinars not knowing what to do. He makes it that simple.
