Review of Jim Edwards' "The Net Reporter" Internet Marketing Resource Site

marketing flowchartI'll let you in on a secret. You probably haven't heard about The Net Reporter site. But you need to know about it if you want to have the same secret weapon a small number of rising marketers have used to build their success for the past year.

What is The Net Reporter Internet marketing resource site?

The Net Reporter is an exclusive, limited membership resource site run by top marketer Jim Edwards. In it, Jim and other top marketers share the strategies that have made them some of the most successful marketers on the Internet. I've been a member of this site since it first started in June of 2006.

My reservations about joining when it started

I'll admit, I was one of the last to join during the initial membership period. I've admired Jim's work for years. He's launched dozens of successful products in several niches. He's written hundreds of articles about Internet marketing. I've always found the amount of free information he has cranked out to be amazing and highly valuable.

But when I first learned about his membership site, I brushed it off. I was fully confident that it would deliver value in a big way. But I was like most business owners. I didn't want to pay for information when I had always gotten it for free.

Finally, I decided to give it a try. After all, with a full money-back guarantee, what did I have to lose?

What this site gives you

I'm glad I gave it a try.

See, there are really two types of information you see online. The information you get for free gives you an overview. It tells you WHAT you can do to get the results you want. It can give you ideas, but you have to figure out for yourself HOW to get those results.

For example, step-by-step info on HOW to choose a profitable niche is far more valuable than information that simply tells you that you can make money by choosing a profitable niche. It's worth paying for because it saves you from having to figure it out by trial and error how to do it. It saves you time, frustration, and usually money as well.

The Net Reporter sticks strictly to how-to information

The Net Reporter is purely how-to information. Jim is in the top 10% of all Internet marketers that I know when it comes to overdelivering value to his members.

I'll tell you a funny story about the site.

When Jim first started it, he absolutely swamped us with information. It was all great information! But it was more than anyone could absorb. Can you believe that people actually complained about getting too much information for their money?

That's right. Members actually pleaded with him to cut down on how much he was giving us.

Jim has cut down now to sending out a major new addition only two to three times a week instead of every day. I still find it a challenge to keep up with it all.

Continually making it more valuable

And Jim continually makes The Net Reporter more valuable. In recent months he started a practice of focusing on one topic each month and exploring it in incredible depth from every angle.

He also starting putting together process maps to help members use the material on the site more effectively. Not only do the process maps give step-by-step instructions on how to do key Internet marketing tasks, but they also serve as a table of contents to every article, every audio, and every recorded webinar on that topic on the site.

The process maps are incredible value! You'll be amazed at the depth of information that they lead you to.

What topics does The Net Reporter cover?

The Net Reporter site covers every aspect of starting and running a business:

  • Mindset
  • Choosing a niche
  • Developing products
  • Promoting
  • Technical tips
  • And everything else

I've created a five-page index for myself that lists all the free software, articles, webinars, and special reports that appear on the site. I've done this simply to keep track of all the info I have available.

I suppose I wouldn't have to do that. The site has a powerful search function to help you find whatever you're looking for. I keep my own index mainly as a memory jogger. I scan through it just to remind me of all the topics that are available.

What ways does it teach you?

The Net Reporter teaches you Internet marketing in any way that you learn best.

  • Dozens of hours of audio and video interviews
  • Ebooks
  • Reports
  • Articles

Jim has even thrown in several useful pieces of software, such as an audio generator to help you put audio on your site and a tool for finding public domain books that you can turn into ebooks and sell.

How valuable do I consider my membership in The Net Reporter?

I went through a financial housecleaning of my business a year ago. I cleared out a few hundred dollars worth of monthly payments I was making for tools that I hadn't found particularly useful. When I came to The Net Reporter, I immediately labeled that as untouchable.

As a matter of fact, the only way I would EVER discontinue my membership in The Net Reporter is if I decided to completely get out of online marketing forever. That's how highly I think of The Net Reporter.

Is The Net Reporter right for you?

I usually find at least one thing I don't like with any product I review. I simply can't think of anything I don't like about The Net Reporter Internet marketing resource site. It provides a wealth of help in building a successful online business.

As a matter of fact, Jim's stated aim in running The Net Reporter site is that he wants to make it absolutely impossible for anyone who is using The Net Reporter NOT to succeed in building their business.

The only reason I can think of for not joining and at least testing it out for yourself is if you are too prone to jumping around from one hot new thing to another to settle in and make use of all that The Net Reporter has to offer.

If you're not going to take the time to use it, don't get it. It's not cheap. It's for people who want to succeed and who realize that it's going to take an investment of time and money to get where they want to go.

But if you're willing to invest in your business—and yourself—at least test it out for a month. I did. And I never regretted it.

I rate it a 10 out of 10
