Worldwide Brands OneSource Review
Investigative review of the Internet's largest wholesale product directory—is it right for you?
If you've looked for wholesale physical products to sell online (the kind you have to ship by mail), you've probably run into scammers who try to:
- Sell you worthless wholesaler lists of nonexistent, unapproachable, or out-of-business wholesalers
- Sell you a ready-made site filled with junk that nobody's buying
- Claim to be distributors but are really middlemen who steal your profits by charging you a fee just to pass your order on to the real wholesale supplier
The question you need to ask, then, about Worldwide Brands is: are they legitimate? or are they just another one of these vultures?
I've asked those questions myself. And I've gotten answers by going undercover with Worldwide Brands.
What to expect from this review
Unlike many reviewers, I don't pull a bait and switch with you. I don't put comments in the title that suggest that I'm going to reveal all sorts of negatives about Worldwide Brands and then feed you nothing but hype straight from Worldwide Brands' sales page. Neither do I sugarcoat reviews, like them, to manipulate you into buying through my affiliate link just to earn a commission.
I'll be straightforward with you. The links to Worldwide Brands in this review are affiliate links. So are the links in theirs. If you buy through my links, I get a commission. If you buy through their links, they get a commission. It's pay, so to speak, for finding you the information you need.
I take my responsibility to give you an honest and thorough review seriously, though. I don't recommend junk.
I don't review products or services that don't pass my criteria for excellence. I've removed reviews of products from my site when I've learned that their quality has deteriorated.
I've turned down dozens of companies that offered me lots of money to (wink-wink) "review" their products. I've turned down free trials in return for a review. When I review something, I go undercover.
That's what I've done to review Worldwide Brands Wholesale Directory and their OneSource tool. I've examined Worldwide Brands rigorously—from every angle.
A little background on Worldwide Brands
Let's start with the stuff the other reviewers will tell you.
Worldwide Brands OneSource Wholesale Product Directory has something the vultures don't: a solid reputation. Not only does it have the largest selection of wholesale suppliers and products, but their product directory is well-known in the Internet community as the leading provider of legitimate wholesale supplier information.
It has such a sterling reputation that eBay has singled it out as an eBay Certified Solution Provider in the area of product sourcing. That's something that almost no other wholesale directory can say.
In addition, both eBay and Entrepreneur.com have turned to Worldwide Brands founder, Chris Malta, to host Internet radio shows about how to find quality products to resell. In other words, some of the most well-known names on the Internet look to Worldwide Brands as THE expert on how to find wholesale products to resell.
What I found about Worldwide Brands' supplier quality
Now, on to my undercover investigation of Worldwide Brands. My first experience with Worldwide Brands was when a client of mine, a home decor manufacturer, wanted to grow his list of resellers.
I researched ways to expand his visibility and Worldwide Brands kept popping up as a prime wholesale directory to get into. I applied for their directory on my client's behalf. I expected to be rubber-stamped and included the same day.
Is that what happened? Not even close!
They take the quality of their wholesale suppliers seriously. You don't buy your way in and you don't get in it just by applying.
Worldwide Brands investigated his business extensively before accepting him as a new supplier. It took a couple of weeks before they accepted his application and listed his company in their wholesale directory.
They investigated him carefully even though his company wasn't some shaky wholesaler wannabe. It was a well-established company that has long been the top seller in its niche.
During those two weeks, Worldwide Brands quizzed everyone from the owner through the production staff repeatedly to make sure the company was the actual manufacturer of the product. If Worldwide Brands wasn't absolutely sure that we were the manufacturer of the products, they weren't going to list us.
What does that mean for you? It's very good news! It means you can be sure that every supplier you find in Worldwide Brands' Dropship Directory and OneSource tool is a quality supplier with quality products.
What I learned by reselling products from Worldwide Brands directory suppliers
I was impressed by Worldwide Brands' thoroughness and signed up as a reseller to see how well it worked for them. I've been with them for many years. The upfront, lifetime membership fee may seem steep, but I'm glad I paid it. It's actually been a bargain.
I've worked with dropship suppliers in their directory for years. It's nice being able to go in there anytime I want, year after year, and find additional suppliers without having to pay another penny.
Worldwide Brands has a tremendous variety both of suppliers and products in their directory. I've never been disappointed with any suppliers with whom I've established a relationship. And with over 8,000,000 from over 8,000 manufacturers, your choice is almost limitless.
If you want to sell popular products, such as electronics or jewelry, you'll find plenty of suppliers to get them from. You can even find obscure niche products from A/C Clutch Plate Removal Kits to Zymitol and everything in between.
One warning about Worldwide Brands Directory
In fact, if I've found one negative about Worldwide Brands, it's that you have SO MANY fine wholesale products and suppliers to choose from. Why can that be a problem, you ask?
I advise you NOT to go into the directory simply to browse, hoping that something jumps out at you. Go in with a plan of what you're looking for. Then stick to that plan. Otherwise you could wander aimlessly through their directory for days. There's that much interesting stuff in there.
Excellent search tools to help you find what you want
I'll have to admit that when I first signed up with Worldwide Brands, the search tools were pretty clunky. It was sometimes frustrating—sometimes verging on impossible—to find exactly what I wanted. How times have changed!
Their new, OneSource search and analysis tool is now very powerful. It identifies not only dropshippers, but also:
- Manufacturers and distributors who sell in bulk, for if you're ready to make the jump into doing your own storage and shipping in return for higher profit margins
- Liquidators who can provide you with limited quantities of overstocked or discontinued items at pennies on the dollar
- Importers who can provide you with products in bulk at dirt cheap prices
Identifying suppliers isn't all that the OneSource tool does, though.
Each time you search for wholesale products, the search feature does a complete analysis of:
- Suppliers for that product
- The level of demand for the product as evidenced on the search engines and eBay
- The amount of competition you'll face
- The levels of pricing you can expect to see for it on the retail market
In other words, it eliminates a lot of the guesswork about what niches will give you the best chances of success. I've found no more complete and no more reputable source for finding any kind of wholesale products to resell than on Worldwide Brands.
Additional, valuable training on how to succeed at reselling wholesale products included
In addition to all this, Worldwide Brands also bundles into their dropship directory membership an extensive training program that they call The Whole$ale. It walks you through setting up your business to succeed at selling physical products.
It includes 19 video courses, along with online workbooks to help you delve deeper into each subject. And the training gives you real-world exercises to help you understand how to apply your training to building your actual business. Overall, if you follow the training, you'll be way ahead of where you would be trying to learn on your own.
Is Worldwide Brands right for you?
Having worked to get clients listed in Worldwide Brands OneSource Wholesale Products Directory, I know they take great care to provide you with quality, reputable wholesale suppliers. As a user of the directory, I know the great wealth of excellent products available.
The ability to choose from dropship suppliers, bulk wholesalers, liquidators, and importers gives you flexibility that no other wholesale source provides. And the built-in OneSource market research tool puts it in a class by itself when it comes to finding and choosing PROFITABLE wholesale products to sell.
If you're looking for the most complete source of resellable products anywhere, Worldwide Brands really has no competition. Similarly, it has no competitors when it comes to its built-in market research tool helping you find the BEST products for your business.
Comparing to other alternatives
Yes, you can get access to other reputable dropship directories for lower up-front cost. If cash is extremely tight and you want some kind of short-term access at the lowest possible cost, I suggest Hienote. Even Hienote, though, will end up costing you more in the course of one year than the lifetime membership to Worldwide Brands.
Although a monthly membership might sound economical, you rarely want to research for a short time and then drop your membership. You'll want to continue to grow your business, won't you? You'll want to continue to find new sources of products.
And if you stick with a directory that charges by the month, you'll easily have spent more on monthly fees by the end of the year than you would have spent on the lifetime membership with Worldwide Brands. And you'll have settled for a lot less in the process.
For those who don't want to pay the lifetime membership fee up front, Worldwide Brands lets you break it into three, reasonable installments. Then you're done paying -- forever. Yet you can access all the features that Worldwide Brands offers for as long as you live.
I've found nothing that gives you as much flexibility and added help in choosing the best wholesale products. If you want a product sourcing tool that will last you a lifetime and that you'll never outgrow, you want to take a serious look at Worldwide Brands.
